Sun Island Resort & Spa Hotel

We’ve been lucky enough to take a holiday at The Sun Island Resort twice. Once as honeymoon and next as a sort of anniversary and also before we get kids! One tip is to get a sea plane transfer if you can. The speed-boat is a pretty long journey after the long flight and also the sea plane offer great views of all the islands. Again another choice you might have to make is half board or All Inclusive. Just depends on the price but last time went Half Board and didn’t spend enough to make all inclusive a better option. So onto the rooms and hotel in general – just perfect and really well kept. Cleaners were in twice a day! Diving / Snorkelling is amazing and that is what will make us come back for more

Sun Island Resort & Spa Hotel

Heavenly paradise, beautiful, clean and friendly. This resort was a truly breathe taking experience but what made our vacation complete was the fantastic service that the staff provided, they were wonderful. I can’t single out anyone as they were all just lovely and I would like to say a thank you to every member of staff at the Sun Island Resort & Spa and would definitely recommend people who are looking for a luxury holiday to visit this resort, I will be returning.

Sun Island Resort & Spa HotelWe arrived at the Maldives with a disappointing view on the weather forecast and were not looking as forward to the holiday as we was before we had heard about a 5 day predicted forecast of stormy weather, thankfully the only rain we seen lasted 15 minutes on our final day. All the resort staff were immaculately dressed, very polite and offered a first class service. We had booked to stay for 5 nights at the bungalow, but due to the kindness of the hotel and the staff we were upgraded to a deluxe beach bungalow for our last 2 nights as it was our anniversary. The hotel design, services, cleanliness, and facilities were perfect and I could not fault them for anything, I can’t wait to return.

Things to do

The resort provides a whole host of sports and activities that will never leave their guests without anything to do. Some for example being; Floodlight tennis courts, scuba diving, windsurfing, canoeing, fishing trips, live music and a variety more.

  1. Best holiday ever! We went to the Sun Island Resort for two weeks in March. It’s exactly as it is in the brochure – turquoise seas, white sands and you couldn’t fault the weather. The diving is excellent with reefs close enough to swim out too and plenty of diving excursions away from the island if you feel more adventurous. There was a wide variety of meals at the buffet restaurant – something to suit everyone. Definately recommend upgrading to All Inclusive (due to the cost of drinks) and taking the sea plane transfer. Would go back at the drop of a hat!
